What is Ballast? 

Ballast is a professionally blended mixture of sharp sand and 0-20mm stone, providing everything needed for concrete production except cement. This all-in-one aggregate solution is perfect for smaller construction projects where ordering pre-mixed concrete would be excessive or impractical, offering flexibility and cost-effectiveness for footings, paths, and general concreting work. This all-in-one aggregate eliminates the need for separate sand and stone, providing consistent
concrete mixes.

• Stone Type: Locally sourced flint or limestone

For projects requiring a smoother finish, we offer specially mixed 0-10mm ballast. This finer grade is ideal for:

• Decorative concrete surfaces
• Thin concrete overlays
• Precision levelling work
• Indoor concrete floor

Mix Ratios & Coverage

• Coverage: 1 tonne makes approx. 0.6m³ concrete
  ● Density: 1.7 tonnes per m³

There is a 1 tonne minimum delivery on this product. 1 tonne is 1000kg in weight. This material is supplied loose tipped however for larger quantities we can offer it by the bulk bag (10 bags minimum). We can offer this in 20 tonne loads and 28 tonne artic loads.

We deliver this loose in bulk 11 tonnes loads or smaller quantities as low as 1 tonne. We deliver high quality Ballast to Thatcham, Newbury, Reading and all the surrounding towns and villages around Berkshire, North Hampshire and Southern Oxfordshire.
