What is Woodchip?

Woodchip consists of chipped tree material providing economical mulch and ground cover. This natural product suppresses weeds while improving soil conditions. Loose tipped delivery offers bulk supply for large landscaping projects requiring organic coverage.

What size is Woodchip?

Typically varies from 0-50mm depending on source and processing. Mixed sizes create natural appearance while providing effective coverage. Fresh woodchip is lighter in colour, darkening with age. Due to this being a budget option we don't  sell it by colour.

Where to use Woodchip?

Perfect for mulching large borders and suppressing weeds economically. Ideal for informal paths, and woodland gardens. Excellent for improving soil structure as it decomposes. Popular for community projects and budget landscaping.

Extra Information

Fresh woodchip may temporarily deplete nitrogen - avoid direct stem contact. Requires 50-100mm depth for effective weed suppression. Decomposes over 2-3 years requiring top-up. Natural product varies in appearance. A sustainable and much cheaper alternative to bark.

There is a 1 cubic meter / 1m3 minimum delivery on this product. 1m3 is around 500Kg in weight and the equivalent of 2 x bulk bags in volume. This material is supplied loose tipped however for larger quantities we can offer it by the bulk bag. 

We deliver this loose in bulk 30m3 loads or smaller quantities as low as 1m3. We deliver our wood chipping products to Thatcham, Newbury, Reading and all the surrounding towns and villages around Berkshire, North Hampshire and Southern Oxfordshire.
