What is Recycled Fill Sand?
Recycled fill sand — also known as pipe bedding sand, cable sand, utility sand or backfill sand — is a cost-effective, sustainable alternative to building sand or as dug sand. Reclaimed and washed from construction materials, it is mainly used for bedding in and around electrical cables and underground drainage pipes. Because it is a recycled product, it is classed as a fill sand rather than a sharp sand or building sand, making it an economical choice for backfill and bedding work.
What is Recycled Fill Sand used for?
- Pipe bedding and surround for underground drainage
- Bedding and backfill for electrical cables and ducting
- Utility and service trench backfill
- Blinding layer prior to pouring concrete
- General fill and levelling on construction sites
Why choose Recycled Fill Sand?
Recycled fill sand gives you reliable bedding and backfill performance at a lower cost than quarried sand. Every tonne helps divert waste from landfill, cuts demand for virgin materials and reduces your project's carbon footprint. Colour may vary slightly from load to load due to the mixed recycled sources, which does not affect its performance as a fill and bedding material.
