What is BSEN 1177 Play Sand?

Play sand conforming to BSEN 1177-2008 is double-washed silica sand meeting strict safety standards. Specifically tested for impact absorption from falls and double washed to prevent clothing stains. Loose tipped delivery suits large playground installations.

What makes it certified?

Double washing removes dust and potential staining materials. Tested to reduce impact when used at specified depths for fall heights. Grain size 0.2-2mm optimised for play and safety. Play Sand is regularly tested to ensure continued compliance.

Where to use BSEN 1177 Sand?

It is essential for play areas, you use it beneath equipment with potential fall heights. The minimum depth for this material is 200mm and helps protect falls from up to 3000mm high when tested. Suitable for sandpits, beach areas, and athletic facilities. Also used in golf bunkers and sports applications. This is a must use product for Schools, Nurseries and pre schools.
