Willis & Ainsworth Ltd: A Little About Us
Established for over a decade, Willis & Ainsworth Ltd is renowned for sourcing and delivering sand, gravel and all aggregates to the general public, local builders, ground workers, block paving companies, landscapers and gardeners. The family run business is led by Lindy Willis who has over 30 years of experience in the aggregate industry. At the beginning of 2009, Willis Aggregates took over C. Ainsworth and Son who on their own had over 35 years of experience. The two businesses combined to become Willis Aggregates Inc. Ainsworth.
The company’s established reputation is based on a fast, efficient, friendly service and prides itself on being able to offer any size load you want on any vehicle you would like, be it 20 tonnes in a tight access site via two ten tonne loads or 500 tonnes on 20 tonne 8 wheelers. Or perhaps just 0.5 or 1 tonne to gravel to someone topping up stone on their drive.
With the merger of the two companies we have expanded on the supply of all of our products and added salt supplies, acquired with C. Ainsworth and Son. Our salt customers include the general public (who own water softeners), schools, hairdressers, guesthouses, pubs and restaurants to name but a few.
At the end of 2014 we also launched new business and website: www.thesaltshop.co.uk, supplying water softener salt for delivery locally throughout Thatcham, Newbury, Reading and the surrounding Berkshire and RG postcode areas.
In 2024 we removed the water softener salt from the Willis & ainsworth website to help create a cleaner a smoother experience for our customers. The salt deliveries now expand into Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Surrey and Buckinghamshire.
Having always operated in the Thames Valley / Berkshire area we have a vast knowledge of all local sands and gravels and their varying colours. We are always happy to try to help you find the most complimentary product available if you are trying to match existing material. We are also able to help and advise on decorative and ornamental gravels, which are not local and source gravels from Scotland to Cornwall to meet your specific needs.
