What is 20mm Compost?

Screened compost graded to 20mm it complies to BSI PAS 100 and provides chunky organic mulch and soil improver. This compost retains some texture while being weed-free and nutrient-rich. Loose tipped delivery suits large and small scale mulching and soil improvement projects.

What is the 20mm grade for?

The 20mm screening leaves some woody fragments providing longer-lasting mulch / soil conditioner. The chunky texture improves soil structure while maintaining moisture. It is the ideal grade for mulching established plants and trees.

Where to use 20mm Compost?

Perfect for mulching borders, around trees, and established shrubs. Excellent for no-dig gardening and building soil organic matter. Ideal for creating new beds with improved structure.

Extra Information

The coarser grade provides longer-lasting mulch than fine compost. Some woody pieces continue decomposing slowly. Adding compost aids water retention while maintaining drainage. It may be slightly acidic when mixing with new plants however this calms down after 5-10 days and plants return to normal colours if they have turned yellow initially. Lay this material 50-100mm deep for effective mulching.

There is a 1 M3 minimum delivery on this product. This material is supplied loose tipped however for other larger quantities we can offer it by the bulk bag (minimum 10 bags). We can offer this in 40 M3 loads and 90 M3 artic loads.

We deliver this loose in bulk 8 M3 loads or smaller quantities as low as 1 M3. We deliver our high quality 20mm Welshmans to Thatcham, Newbury, Reading and all the surrounding towns and villages around Berkshire, North Hampshire and Southern Oxfordshire.
